Wendy’s High School Athletes of the Week – 1/27/21
WIBW and Wendy’s are proud to celebrate the achievements of local high school athletes with our weekly Athletes of the Week honors.
Every week, we talk with two standout high school athletes in Topeka who have made their names known through their contributions on the field, the court or wherever they compete. 580 WIBW and 580 Sports Talk thank Wendy’s for their continued support of high school athletes in Topeka.
This week, we’re featuring a pair of seniors who have been dominating in their recent events.
Our female athlete of the week is Brylee Prockish, a bowler from Shawnee Heights. Brylee was an all-city pick a year ago, and she’s on her way again this year. She’s picked up wins in her last three events, including wins on back-to-back nights at events at Lansing and Hayden. Brylee spoke with us about what’s been working so well for her lately, taking over as a vocal leader for the T-Birds and more.
Hudson Ramirez from Hayden swimming is our male athlete of the week. Hudson played a major role in Hayden winning the Osawatomie meet on Jan. 20, coming away with first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley, the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay, plus a second-place finish in the 100 fly. Hudson talked about his senior season so far with us, as well as his personal and team goals for his final season.
