Thirteen Area Teams Ranked in Newest KBCA Polls
Thirteen local basketball teams – seven boys squads and six girls teams – are ranked in the top 10 of their respective classes in the latest rankings released by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.
On the girls side, Topeka High remains in the #1 spot in class 6A, with Washburn Rural’s Lady Blues ninth in the same poll. Seaman is ninth in class 5A, Riley County fourth in 3A, and two area teams are in the 2A poll with Wabaunsee third and Jefferson County North sixth.
The top ranked local squad in boys basketball is Rock Creek, who stands atop the 3A poll. Washburn Rural, Manhattan and Free State are 5-6-7 in the 6A rankings. Highland Park checks in at #5 in 5A. Mission Valley is in a tie for the #10 spot in 2A. Valley Falls remains in the 1A rankings at seventh.
