Shawnee County Football Tour 2019 – Topeka High Trojans

Our fifth stop on our Shawnee County Football Tour brings us to the team that won more games than any other team in Topeka last year, the Topeka High Trojans.

LAST YEAR: The Trojans shared Centennial League championship honors and reached the Sectional round of the 6A playoffs, where they lost to eventual state champion Derby. Their final record of 9-2 was their best since 2012.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Seniors Ky Thomas and Da’Vonshai Harden comprise one of the best backfields in the state. Harden, the quarterback with a big arm and the ability to make plays in the running game, is committed to Kansas. Thomas has terrorized opponents for the last three seasons and the future Minnesota Golden Gopher has a chance to break the city’s career rushing record this year. Sophomore middle linebacker J.P. Deeter is a stalwart for the Trojan defense.
