KBCA Releases First Basketball Rankings of New Year
Four teams from Topeka and ten other teams from the area are ranked in the first edition of the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Top 10 class rankings, released Tuesday afternoon.
Topeka High’s girls remain #1 in class 6A, while the Seaman girls have moved up to #3 in class 5A. The Washburn Rural boys are back into the 6A poll at #10, and Highland Park checks in at #7 in 5A.
In other girls rankings, Riley County is seventh in class 3A, and three area teams are ranked in 2A: Wabaunsee third, Jefferson County North sixth, and Valley Heights tenth. Manhattan and Free State are ranked sixth and seventh in the 6A boys poll, respectively. Rock Creek is fourth in 3A with Riley County fifth and Royal Valley tenth. The Mission Valley boys are fifth in 2A.
