This week’s Azura Credit Union Athlete of the Week is Hayden junior football player Will DeVader.

DeVader rushed for 99 yards on 13 carries, including a 36-yard touchdown scamper that opened the scoring in Hayden’s 14-6 win over Frontenac in a 3A east sectional last Friday night. He has been one of Hayden’s primary ballcarriers as the starting fullback and also among the team’s leading tacklers from his middle linebacker spot. The Wildcats are back in the state semifinals for the fifth time in the last six season. We spoke to Will about why he loves football, his favorite NFL team, the rematch against Perry-Lecompton in the state semifinals on Friday, and more.
