This week’s Azura Credit Union Athletes of the Week are Shawnee Heights senior soccer player Nathan Seelbach and Hayden senior volleyball player Sydney Hillmer.

Seelbach has been one of the catalysts for an 8-2 start to the season for the T-Birds on the pitch, including a current six-game winning streak. He’s scored 10 goals this season. Seelbach has previously earned All-League and 5A All-State recognition for his play in his career at Shawnee Heights. We spoke to Nathan about the team’s chemistry, the first goal he ever scored, his favorite Premier League star, and more.

Hillmer has been a consistent presence for the Wildcat volleyball team as they have compiled a 16-9 record and a #2 ranking in class 4A according to the Kansas Volleyball Association. She has previously been named All-League and 4A All-State. Hillmer has also played softball at Hayden. We spoke to Sydney about her strengths as a player, her college choice, being a multi-sport athlete, and more.
