League championships were up for grabs for the city schools in girls golf on Monday, along with some action on the pitch.

At the Centennial League meet in Manhattan, Washburn Rural’s decade of dominance continued:

The Lady Blues captured their tenth straight league title with a team score of 354, 25 strokes ahead of second-place Seaman. Seaman’s Lois Deeter won the individual title with an 84, but the next four scorers were from Washburn Rural, with Kaitlyn Crough second, Madelyn Luttjohan third, Cassidy McMaster fourth and McKenna Merrick fifth. Shawnee Heights trekked to Leavenworth for the second annual United Kansas Conference meet, and just like last season, they took the team title home:

BOYS SOCCER
Hayden visited Seaman in a Centennial League contest. Behind a brace from Jeron Poteete and tallies from Kellen Munoz and Caleb Kerr, the red-hot Vikings shut out the Wildcats 4-0.
In non-league play, Topeka High throttled Lansing 7-0 thanks to two goals apiece from Ethan Payne and Isaiah Huckins. Abel Lopez, Jack Murphy, and Ernesto Garcia-Retana also scored for the Trojans. And Topeka West traveled all the way down the Turnpike and came back with a victory over Wichita West:
