Centennial League champions were crowned on the mats to highlight Saturday’s action.

For the first time ever, Washburn Rural claimed the Centennial League team championship. Twelve Junior Blues wrestlers made it to the finals, with eight of them taking home individual championships: Jacob Tangpricha at 106 pounds, Bishop Murray at 113, John Vincent at 145, Austin Fager at 152, Cole Wells at 160, Remington Stiles at 182, Gavin Carter at 195, and Andrew Davis at 220. Seaman got runner-up finishes from Kyle Adams at 126, Landon Willard at 145, and Baily Meredith at 170, while Hayden’s Will Devader was second at 182.
Emporia’s girls won the first ever Centennial League girls wrestling championship, with Washburn Rural second. Five Lady Blues took home first place: Jaiden Taggart at 109 pounds, Addison Broxterman at 116, Halley Robinett at 155, Rebekah Smith at 170, and Dajia Anderson at 235. Topeka West’s Bri Randles won the 130-pound championship and was named the event’s most outstanding wrestler by the coaches.
Shawnee Heights took first place by half a point at the Silver Lake Invitational. Individual champs for the T-Birds were Tyler Lincoln at 106, Brock Ferguson at 113, and Decker Stickelman at 120.
