580 Preps Recap – Games/Events of 2-19-20

League championships in bowling were up for grabs for all seven city programs on Wednesday.

The Centennial League boys and girls titles stayed in the capital city, with the Seaman boys repeating as league champs while Washburn Rural claimed the girls crown. Seaman’s Sturgis Streeter was the individual boys champion, with teammate Trent Turkin in second. Washburn Rural’s Dayten Smoot placed third and Hayden’s Aaron Thomas came in fifth as both matched their team’s finish in the overall standings. The girls individual champ also came from Seaman, with Mackenzie Millard taking first to lead the way for the third-place team. Hannah Casto’s third-place individual finish led the way for Rural. Shawnee Heights’ girls are the United Kansas Conference champions after action in Leavenworth yesterday. Megan Stretton (2nd) and Brylee Prockish (5th) led the efforts for the Lady T-Birds. The Heights boys came in third, led by Alec Elskamp’s seventh-place finish. De Soto’s boys won the league. Full results are available here.
