580 Preps Recap – Games/Events of 10-5-19
One of the biggest events scheduled for Saturday never had a chance to get started, as the Seaman Invitational cross country meet was cancelled. The Topeka West tennis round-robin was also washed out. But other games and events occurred as scheduled.
CROSS COUNTRY
Sophomore Tanner Newkirk led the pack for the Hayden boys at the Maple Leaf Classic in Baldwin. His time of 16:18.58 was second best on the day. Senior Dawson Adams finished 12th for the Wildcats. Hayden placed eighth out of nine teams.
Highland Park was scheduled to compete at the Junction City Invitational but it was postponed due to weather. They will hold the event on Monday.
BOYS SOCCER
After losing their opening match at the Go 4 The Goal Classic in Burlington, Iowa, Washburn Rural finished their road trip in style with a pair of wins.

VOLLEYBALL
Highland Park competed at the Ottawa Invitational. Full results were not available, but the Scots did drop matches to Louisburg, Basehor-Linwood and Ottawa. They also played Olathe West and Bishop Miege.
