580 Preps Recap – Games/Events of 10-17-19
CROSS COUNTRY
Shawnee Heights competed in the United Kansas Conference meet at De Soto, and senior Kylie Phillips continued her outstanding season with a first-place finish in the girls race. She led the T-Birds to a second place finish among girls teams. The Heights boys took third, with Kory Sutton’s fourth-place run leading their efforts. Full results are available here.

In Centennial League play, Washburn Rural secured at least a share of their 25th consecutive league championship:

Topeka West got to enjoy their Senior Night with a tense win over Hayden:
2-1 win over Hayden with goals by Kai Gillis and Elmer Rodriguez. 2 assists from James Schneider. Hard fought game and a great senior night win!

Highland Park fell to Manhattan 10-0 in Manhattan.
Ethan Armbruster and Nathan Seelbach each recorded hat tricks as Shawnee Heights lambasted Lansing 10-0 in a United Kansas Conference match.
VOLLEYBALL
Hayden hosted De Soto and Bishop Miege for a Senior Night triangular. Hayden beat De Soto in three sets, 17-25, 25-17, 25-21, and also topped Miege.
Shawnee Heights visited Spring Hill for a triangular that also included Atchison. The T-Birds lost to the hosts, 21-25, 15-25, but beat Atchison 25-20, 25-17.
