580 Preps Recap – Games/Events of 10-1-19
There was action in tennis, soccer and volleyball last night, with an epic city triangular at the Bueltel Center highlighting the night.
GIRLS TENNIS
Topeka West hosted an 11-team invitational, with Seaman, Shawnee Heights, and Washburn Rural competing. Seaman placed fourth out of 11 teams, thanks to a first-place at #2 doubles (Dowd/Sweeney) and a runner-up finish at #1 doubles (Biggs/Unruh). Rural was fifth with fourth-place finishes at #1 singles (Sheriden Wichman) and #1 doubles (Robinett/Bradbury). Topeka West had a fourth-place finish at #2 singles (Ariel Graber) and placed 8th, and Shawnee Heights placed 11th. View the full results here.
Hayden hosted Sabetha, Ottawa, and Bishop Miege in a home quad.
BOYS SOCCER
Shawnee Heights traveled to Turner for a United Kansas Conference tilt and came back with a 3-0 shutout victory. Nathan Seelbach, Kaden Kennard, and Mikey Ramirez scored for the T-Birds.
In a non-league contest, Paola defeated Highland Park, 6-2.
VOLLEYBALL
It was an exciting night of volleyball for a great cause at Hayden, as the city’s three ranked volleyball teams played a Centennial League quad in the ‘Let’s Help’ event. All three teams walked away with an impressive victory on the night. Washburn Rural defeated the hosts 25-20, 25-20; Hayden toppled Seaman 25-21, 25-17; and the Lady Vikes defeated Rural 25-17, 25-18.

Highland Park, Shawnee Heights and Topeka West went to Emporia for a quad. The hosts beat the Scots and Chargers, while Heights was able to defeat the Spartans.
