580 Preps Recap – Games/Events of 1-22-20
BOYS BASKETBALL
Despite 17 points from Joe Berry, the Washburn Rural Junior Blues fell to Ottawa 57-45 in their first round game at the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Classic. The Junior Blues trailed for most of the game and shot just 35% from the floor. The Junior Blues will play Holton in a consolation-round game Friday afternoon at 4:30.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Topeka West Lady Chargers dropped a road tilt to the Olathe West Owls by a 51-16 score.
WRESTLING
Shawnee Heights hosted Leavenworth in a dual last night.
BOYS SWIMMING
Hayden competed at the Osawatomie Invitational, and while full results were not available, Hudson Ramirez had himself quite a meet.

Seaman and Washburn Rural trekked to Manhattan for a meet. Rural placed second out of five teams while Seaman was third. Washburn Rural’s Kyler Lamb and Kristopher Fritsch both took home a pair of first place finishes, with Fritsch first in the 200 and 500 freestyle swims and Lamb first in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Both Lamb and Fritsch were part of the 400 free relay team that placed first, along with Dagen Clouse and Nathan Trachta. Seaman got first place finishes from Noah Florence in the 100 breaststroke and Colin O’Rourke in the 100 butterfly.
BOWLING
Shawnee Heights and Topeka West competed along with Emporia and Manhattan at a quad at West Ridge Lanes. The Shawnee Heights boys won the meet, and Topeka West’s Preston Millard had the high school. Results below from kshsbowling.com.
